A college student's guide to the first day of the week:
1. Wake up and have a light breakfast.
2. Walk to your first class at 8 am. Grab a good seat (Read: under air-con vent, away from projector - unless you are tall enough to switch it on) and proceed to tell the person beside you how hot the weather is.
3. Half-way through your first class, wonder why you forgot to buy breakfast and had to eat biscuits.
4. Rush through a timed class assignment, marvelling at how much slower you seem to be in completing Accounting questions after not being in touch with it for a whole year.
5. Take a break without leaving your seat because the class assignment seemed to take forever. (And at this point, you can tell that voice at the back of your head telling you how much faster you should have been to just shut up.)
6. Move on to your next class. Feel happy that the classroom is cool.
7. Groan as you stare at pages of what look like undecipherable alphabets and numbers.
8. Wonder why MAT132 suddenly seem so much less daunting now.
9. Get light bulb moments when differentiating hyperbolic functions (Read: Moments can range from I want to eat nasi lemak today.. Oh yumm.. to Okay, so those are extra ‘h’s. Extra ‘h’s, extra ‘h’s...)
10. Feel very hungry and start thinking of lunch, thereby momentarily forgetting that you’re supposed to differentiate and integrate fascinating-looking things.
11. Ask person beside, “Eh, want to eat at the cafeteria ah?” and then proceed to think of food. (Optional: Doodle ugly pictures of food on aforementioned person’s notes – just for fun.)
12. Try not to be too excited when the clock reads 12 pm even though your stomach is playing a symphony which you are sure is audible to everybody else’s ears. Whoops.
13. Spend half an hour wolfing down lunch and trading news with other people.
14. Head to the library to spend an hour completing assignments.
15. Wonder what to do after your last class for the day ends. SMS several people to ask about dinner. (Yes, sometimes the planning is done right after lunch.)
16. Come back to reality and resume punching numbers into your calculator.
17. Arrive early for your last class and feel your back aching while waiting for the people inside the class to vacant the classroom.
18. Refrain from doodling on newly printed notes.
19. Get a light bulb moment while going through tutorial questions and then give yourself a mental kick.
20. Beware of half-closed eyes!
21. Do not close eyes.
22. DO NOT close eyes.
23. OI, are you listening to me?! DO NOT CLOSE EYES.
24. Break! (Read: Catch some ZZs now.)
25. WAKE UP LIAO.
26. Make dinner plans with half-closed eyes. Make sure you type your SMSes properly and do not talk gibberish.
26. DO NOT close eyes again.
27. Head into washroom after class. DO NOT close eyes.
28. Go back to your room, change, and pass out for two solid hours.
29. Wake up.
30. WAKE UP LAH! It’s time for dinner. :P

By the time this is published, I shall be practicing College Student Rule #39: Having six hours of back-to-back classes isn’t an excuse to skip lunch. You just have to do it lah.
Have a good day! :)
