There is a lot we can learn about people if we just take the time to sit down and talk to them. Sometimes, they tell us the least expected things when we think that we're just going to have another round of small talk. Sometimes they reveal things that surprise us. Sometimes they make a hush fall over the table as we contemplate on what to say in response.
Yesterday, I was reminded of all these during a conversation I had with someone. Often times, we find ourselves talking about certain topics almost, if not, daily. We tend to skim the surface of things and learn just the basics of the person or a certain situation. But when we delve deeper into a topic that holds a significant meaning to ourselves, it can be really eye-opening.
It was a timely reminder to keep in mind what matters more than others.
