Change

Growing up is scary for many reasons, and now one reason becomes more apparent over time. Growing up means recognizing that people make mistakes that anyone can make. It also means understanding and accepting. Sometimes it involves matters that had never crossed our minds. Sometimes it involves conflicting principles, broken promises, forgotten words. But every time it happens, it becomes clearer why no one really wants to grow up. By growing up, I mean accepting responsibilities and being accountable for one's own decisions and actions.

When you're young, everyone seems ok, stable, constant. But the fact is that no one is stagnant. No one remains the same forever. Everyone changes according to his surroundings, external influences, internal shifts. It is hard to point out when exactly a person changes because there is seldom a recognizable moment when you can see the gears churning and beginning a whole new set of movements inside. Often times, we see changes reflected in words and actions. And that is when realization dawns upon us. Some of the times, we might not like change because it disrupts the routines that we have gotten so accustomed to. Other times, we welcome change because it allows us room to explore, learn, and grow.

The only thing that is constant is change. All we can do is accept, understand, and move on. Sometimes that is what makes growing up seem so intimidating, but we still brave the storm anyway.

hah. I hate unexpected changes. But true, nobody or nothing, for that matter is stagnant. How i wish i can choose the change sometimes. But, then I'd never know the road not taken. So yup. Pray and leave everything up to God huh? =)
